  • After the establishment of Chhattisgarh on 1 November 2000, Guru Ghasidas National Park was established by separating from Sanjay National Park.
  • In the year 2021, the National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA) announced the establishment of the fourth Tiger Reserve of the state of Chhattisgarh by combining the area of Guru Ghasidas National Park and Tamor Pingla Wildlife Sanctuary.
  • This will be the fourth tiger reserve in the state of Chhattisgarh after the notification is issued by the state government.
  • This national park is spread over an area of 1440.57 sq km.
  • The migration of elephants from Guru Ghasidas National Park to Sanjay Dhubri National Park is also observed every year.
